Soundtrack

It's been years since I'd last done it, but yesterday I just rested in the gray room and played some sound effects records on the hi fi. They contain thirty minutes of unedited ambient sound. It's like stepping into sensorial time machine to audition these records. Steven is an antique media dealer I occasionally buy from, usually to get gifts for my sensitive but wealthy writer friends. He loaned me a milk crate and a half of LPs and I'm working through them this week. Inside the Chicago Hostess Bakery inspired me to write some new cookie recipes longhand. If you've never written a recipe from scratch--excuse the choice of words--it's a lot tougher than you might think. Polish Festival and Demo Derby at the Islip Speedway work well together. Perhaps I'll write a quiche recipe to them. Keep watching the wheels, Diary.
