Arbor Day never seems to escape Manolo. He was up bright and early and I couldn't help but get caught up in his excitment. He even broke out the new clogs he purchased last weekend in Santa Barbara. I will have to say that that town must lead the nation in clogs per capita, that and women named Joan. Anyway, it took some convincing but Manolo finally allowed me to contribute to the endeavor. It gave me a chance to break out my Tangor gloves and spade. We took the oak seedling he prepared to Griffith Park and put her in the ground. Manolo openly wept and I declared the tree to be named Rebecca. Let's hope her shade stretches as far as her beauty.
