Miniature Sea

Today the ocean looks like a that of a 50's war film: slow, like the water surrounding a miniature warship governed by an overcranked film camera, glowing, mesmerizing and excessively aqueous. I must have spent half a hour on the patio looking out at it through my aviators. Dick Donner's holiday party is tonight so I will retire from work early today. I've been making notes on my hairdresser character. The number of conditioners and tonics and such has gotten out of hand. Diary, you need to be a chemist in the British sense of the word to know your way around and you almost need to be gay in the American sense of the word to get somewhere. Manolo has the day off so his assistant put together breakfast. He got the asparagus and cantaloupe to cooperate in a way you would not expect. Asallam Alakum.
